Australia open the Rugby World Cup 2027 on home soil against Hong Kong China at Perth Stadium. This is the tournament opener — the match that kicks off six weeks of world-class rugby across Australia. Perth Stadium holds over 60,000 and the opening fixture of a home World Cup generates an atmosphere that pool matches rarely match. Australians turn out in force for home World Cup games, particularly the opener.
Perth is a long way from anywhere, which is part of its appeal. Customers who make the trip to Perth for the World Cup opener tend to build several days around it. The city centre is straightforward to navigate and the stadium is accessible by direct rail from the centre.
Tickets are E-tickets delivered to your email before match day.
